Located in the heart of Perth, the Swan-Canning Estuary is rich in cultural and ecological significance.

Historically a vital resource for the Noongar people, it supports a diverse range of wildlife, including over 130 fish species and a thriving population of Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins.

In response to declining shellfish populations, we are proud to support The Nature Conservancy Australia’s Swan-Canning Ecosystem Restoration Project. Over the past year, 24 shellfish reefs have been built across four sites, covering 6 hectares.

These reefs are not only enhancing underwater life but also improving water quality. As they mature, they will provide essential habitats for various species, playing a crucial role in restoring one of Australia’s most threatened marine ecosystems. Ongoing monitoring will guide future restoration efforts as we aim to restore 60 reefs by 2030.
